PL007 and PL010 Sl. Pole Star 'Tangerine' x Slc. Circle of Life 'Heart's Desire' AM/AOS
Here I have used Sl. Pole Star which is S. coccinea x L. briegeri crossed with a Slc. Circle of Life.  The quality of flowers have ranged from poor to very nice.  I was hoping for yellows and oranges with red tip flares.  The plants are very compact at about 8" tall and bloom in 3-4" pots.

PL013  Pot. Free Spirit 'Miami Sun' AM/AOS x Slc. Circle of Life 'Heart's Desire' AM/AOS.  Pot. Free Spirit has a wonderful concolor bright yellow flower, with full shape.  Overall this cross has been disappointing as they are somewhat larger plants with lanky bulbs and leaves.  Flower quality is not up to the parents, with the exception of the one seedling pictured to the left.

PL020  (Slc. Bright Angel x L. briegeri) 'Sunset Flame x Slc. Angel's Fantasy 'Fiesta Flare'
The first parent is yellow with red tip flares on all segments, the 2nd parent is a splashed petal yellow with red flares.  This cross is promising with star shaped flowers, and splash petals on mini growing plants.

PL019  Lc. Tokyo Magic 'Golden Sun' x Slc. Circle of Life 'Mesmerize'
This is a hybrid cross is similar to Pot. Martha Clarke (Blc. Love Sound x Slc. Circle of Life), which produced high quality flowers and garnered several AOS awards.  Fred Clarke at Sunset Valley Orchids also made the same cross using different clones.  I have only bloomed the one (pictured to the left), but he has bloomed dozens and many have been outstanding.  The pictures below are from his cross.

PL029  Lc. Tropical Song 'Tango' x Sl. Pole Star 'Red Berries'
Lc. Tropical Song is a standard size splash petal Cattleya that has 4-6 flowers.  The results have been very pleasing:  mini-catts with star shaped flat splashed petal flowers.  I hope to bloom more!
The red one below received an 80 pt. AM/AOS on March 22, 2010.

PL035 Sl. Minipet 'Ruby Jewel' x S. wittigiana 'Pink Opal' AM/AOS
This is one of a handful of S. wittigiana hybrids!  I was pleasantly surprised that the seedlings grew easily from flask, and the first to bloom to the left bloomed in 1 year from flask!  I'm eagerly awaiting my other seedlings to bloom.  These look like pink Minipets.  The picture below left is from a friend of mine.

PL016  Lctna. Peggy San 'Gold Country' HCC/AOS x Slc. Dream Cloud 'Sparkler' HCC/AOS
Seedlings are compact and flowering with purple flares on white or lavender.  Will need to see how they bloom on larger plants.

PL004  Lctna. Peggy San 'Gold Country' HCC/AOS x Lc. Tropical Song 'Tango'
These are medium size plants blooming with purple flares on lavender flowers.
